Top 5 Best Retro Games Ever

Do you wish for the 19th century of video gaming? Do you still recall the time of arcades and cartridges? We have some exciting news for you, however! In this article, we'll take a journey into the past and look at the top 5 classic video games of all time that are just as entertaining to play now as they were back in the day.

These games are probably going to bring back old memories and offer hours of pleasure, whether you're a die-hard fan or a beginner to the world of retro gaming. So get ready to clean up your old consoles and come along on this journey back in time with us.

5. Pac-Man (1982):

Everyone is familiar with Pac-Man. You must be familiar with this dot-gobbling dude and his four ghost friends, whether you played him in the arcades back in the 1980s or watched him in the Pixels movie.

I can not believe that I have to explain what this game is, but if you want here we go. Players control the small wheel of cheese man through challenging retro mazes while attempting to avoid the coloured blobs with eyeballs and build up a high score.

Pac-Man is a gaming icon, appearing on everything from hoodies to lunch boxes. That is the classic arcade game and comes to mind whenever I discuss old gaming arcades. These video game symbols, along with Ms Pac-Man, are still quite expensive on second-hand websites.

They have even been featured in their own 3D adventure! They can be found on several "best of" titles! Well, Pac-Man truly is a legend. Who would have guessed that anything that resembles a math sign and a wheel of parmesan would have become a well-known emblem all across the world?

4. Tetris (1984):

Although it was released five years after the Soviet classic launched, it is still one of the best even though it is not the original. Also, any game cover that carries the name "the Soviet Mind Game" must be absolutely stunning.

It's reasonable to say that without this hugely popular game, we wouldn't have had the likes of Candy Crush, Columns, or any of the other rip-offs that you play nonstop on your phone in place of working on spreadsheets at the office.

Even though it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of Tetris Effect or Puyo Puyo Tetris, this straightforward purple screen has brought joy to millions of people around the world.

This is the Tetris game for me, and it's absolutely impossible to put down because of the music, the multiplayer activity, and the fact that purple can look fantastic in so many colours.

3. Goldeneye 007 (1997):

This iconic N64 game is a necessary inclusion on any list of the finest retro games. Lasers on the Facility level, deathmatches with the golden pistol, RCP90 combat with Xenia. This game captivated the hearts and minds of a generation, whether it was playing through the movie's scenes in one-player mode or slapping your friends around in the jungle.

The levels largely stick to the movie's plot. As you progress through the stages, run into Natalya and Trevelyan. Log into your spy file to select various tasks and challenges.

On the N64, the cutscenes were also amazing. These may appear somewhat stretched and pixelated today, but in the 1990s, they were undoubtedly cutting-edge.

It is a first-person shooter game. There just isn't a multiplayer game like it in my opinion. After Goldeneye, deathmatches were never the same again, and I believe that many gamers still hold it in high regard when discussing new games.

2. Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (1992):

Sonic the Hedgehog is a video game symbol and even a hero, just like all of the other legendary characters mentioned above. He is one of the most well-known figures (and hedgehogs) in history and the face of Sega.

Additionally, even in 2021, new gamers are still learning about this game because to the popularity of the Sonic the Hedgehog Movie and the Sega Mega Drive Mini. Also, Sonic 2 nailed the pattern perfectly. Okay, I liked Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, but the courses in this game hugely affected all future Sonic games.

It is safe to say that this is the best side-scrolling adventure ever. Play as both Tails and Sonic to save little animals and stack those rings while preventing Robotnik from collecting the Chaos Emeralds.

Yeah, this game is thirty years old. Do you really think that? I suppose everything moves quickly while travelling at the speed of light.

1. The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time (1998):

Of all other games from any period in gaming history, only Ocarina has received a Metacritic score of 99%. It's not difficult to understand why with enemies like Twinrova and Shadow Gannon and the dramatic journey from Young Link to the saviour of Hyrule.

It had to be, after all, didn't it? It's not just the most in-depth adventure of all time and one of the most exquisitely designed games ever; pretty much every critic in the nation considers it to be one of their favourites.

Additionally, Ocarina is the best representation of Hyrule in any Zelda game, and the narrative is so amazing that Twilight Princess is really a huge parody of it. Naturally, the open environment of Hyrule in BOTW is incredible, but the entire cast of characters—from cheerful carpenters to Gerudo guards—makes this game among the most immersive ones available on any console.

Ocarina of Time is the video game that has had the largest influence on my life. It's a captivating story of valour, honour, and two worlds together by a hero picked by the gods, whether you play it on the N64 or the 3DS.

That concludes our selection of the top 5 classic games, all of which you might need to try. These games have survived the test of time and continue to captivate gamers of all experience levels. Therefore, if you're in the mood for memories or just some retro gaming world, try out one of these titles and see what all the fuss is about.

Who knows, you might end up becoming dependent on the straightforward yet enjoyable gameplay of these legendary classics. If you have any thoughts let us know in the comments below. Also, check our social media on the right for more amazing information about other amazing games.
